Baby Beach is a popular family-oriented beaches. The water is calm and the beach is protected by reefs.
Known for good restroom and picnic facilities, Airport Beach has a nice grassy knoll. The water is deep and you will see tropical fish.
D.T. Fleming Beach Park is a great place to spend a half-day boogie boarding, and enjoying the views of Moloka’i.
On Hwy 30 past D.T. Fleming Beach you’ll come to Slaughterhouse Beach. There’s a lot of stairs to go down, but it’s an incredible beach.
One of the best snorkel spots on Maui is Black Rock Beach.
Located at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Black Rock is perfect for families and snorkel beginners.
Honolua Bay is one of the best bays to snorkel and scuba dive and you walk through a rainforest to get to Honolua Bay.
Napili Bay is one of the best beaches. It’s nice for families and the water is often calm. It’s a “must-go-to” beach.
Nearby is the popular Polo Beach.
Another popular location is Secret Beach – also called Secret Cove. It’s a destination for many weddings and special events.
When you’re in the Makena area, stop by Secret Beach!
Want souvenirs and gifts? Go to the Maui Swap Meet on Saturday morning to get T-Shirts, hand-made jewelry, and Maui-made crafts.
Staying in the Ka’anapali Resort Area? Ride the free Kaanapali Trolley that runs between the resorts and Whaler’s Village.
Lahaina Town is a must-see attraction. Front Street is a famous Hawaiian city known for its art galleries, restaurants, souvenir stores, shave ice stands, and the 100-year old Banyan Tree.
The Second Friday Town Party in Lahaina is a family-focused event that tourists have enjoyed for years.
Each November, Lahaina Town hosts its well-known event – the annual Halloween Festival on Front Street.
Front Street is closed to traffic and thousands of people walk up-and-down Front Street in costumes.
Many tourists take a day trip to Honolulu to visit Pearl Harbor or just walk the Waikiki beaches.
Flying to and from Honolulu is a lot of fun – and the easiest airline is Mokulele Airlines from Kapalua Airport on West Maui.
Consider flying to Honolulu and seeing the island of Oahu for a full day of adventure.
Spinner Dolphins! Snorkel boat companies go out of Lahaina Harbor, so years ago I took an excursion to the island of Lana’i.
On the way to the harbor we encountered Spinner Dolphins.
Sunrise Cafe is a small, family-run breakfast and lunch place on Front Street.
It’s across from the Baldwin Home Museum and serves outstanding breakfasts in a home environment.
Ocean-Front Breakfast! A breakfast spot directly over the ocean is Cheeseburger In Paradise.
At Cheeseburger In Paradise, the pancakes are good, the Bloody Mary is stout, and you’ll have an inspiring start to your morning with a spectacular view of the island of Lana’i.
Best Value! The best value breakfast place is 808 Grindz Cafe in Old Lahaina Shopping Center. It’s parallel to Front Street and offers excellent food at low prices.
808 Grindz Cafe offers breakfast and lunch items for $6.00, $7.00 and $8.08. Simply amazing, as the Eggs Benedict is just $8.08!
The Sea House Restaurant at the Napili Kai has a “top notch” Happy Hour.
Many consider it the best Happy Hour. It hosts a tremendous view of Napili Beach and the sunsets are spectacular.
Located in Napili Plaza, Mama’s Ribs & Rotisserie is an excellent choice!
Mama’s offers both take-out to the beach or back to your condo or apartment.
The Noodle Bar PHO restaurant has some of the best Vietnamese dishes on Maui.
The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and there are a lot of PHO items.
Absolutely, one of the most popular places is 808 Grindz Cafe.
808 Grindz Cafe is only open from 7am to 2pm each day. The BEST VALUE on West Maui!
The Cool Cat Cafe is famous for their burgers – winning “Best Burger” for over 12 years in a row.
Cool Cat Cafe is on the second floor of the Wharf Cinema Center and is across from the Banyan Tree.
Along Hwy. 30, CJ’s Deli & Diner is know for their Hana Highway box lunch, excellent breakfast items, and outstanding sandwiches.
Lahaina Sushi Ko is a top sushi restaurant. This small, sushi place has a large menu and is just off Front Street.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House is one of the best steak places on Maui. The Lahaina location is on Front Street.
You’ll enjoy the steak at Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Surfside Woodfire Pizza Kitchen in the 505 Shopping Center is an excellent choice for gourmet pizza. Their pizza is $19.00 and the BBQ Chicken pizza is excellent.
Prison Street Pizza just off Front Street on Prison Street (of course) is also good.
Prison Street Pizza is the only place where you can buy a slice. For $3.75, you can get a large slice of pizza.
Lahaina Pizza Company is on Front Street and the second floor seating offers a nice view of the ocean.
Lahaina Pizza serves a Chicago-style pizza, and also offers sandwiches and salads.
Pi Artisan Pizzeria is another pizza place with an stunning view of the ocean.
It’s in the Outlets Of Maui shopping complex. The pizza is good for the entire family. There’s indoor seating, but you’ll want to sit outside and watch the sunset.
Sale Pepe is an Italian restaurant just off Front Street and is known for outstanding pizza.
Lahaina Sports Bar is one of the largest Maui sports bars, with a lot of TV’s, good drinks, excellent appetizers, and a good pizza.
Spanky’s Riptide Sports Bar is popular, also sporting a lot of TV’s. You can sit and watch several sporting events at one time.
The Dirty Monkey on Front Street is also a good sports bar, with a selection of global whiskeys with good American bar food.
Lahaina Coolers is a fun, casual sports bar on Dickenson Street. It’s a block off of Front Street.

5 Palms Restaurant is located at the Mana Kai Maui Resort and has one of the best ocean views. The short ribs are outstanding, and the Mai Tai is stout.
Another popular eatery is the Southside Paia Fish Market . Truly one of the best fish places and the prices are reasonable.
There’s normally a line at Paia Fish Market, but it tends to move quick.
One of my very favorites places to eat breakfast is Kihei Caffe.
The Kihei Caffe is a local go-to place with counter service, outdoor seating, and a huge menu featuring southern-style dishes.
Kihei Caffe opens at 5am and closes at 3pm, making it a great place for breakfast before going to the beach.
Pizza Madness Maui is a bit hard to find, but well worth the effort. The pizza was outstanding and the chicken wings were good.
Pizza Madness is a place to try when you’re having a “Pizza Craving” in the Kihei area.
Gyro King can be found at the Home Depot near the Kahului Airport. Gyro King offers the best Greek Gyro and salads you’ll find anywhere. Also, the prices are quite reasonable.
Food trucks can be found all over Maui.
While shopping at what locals call “The Queen’s Mall“, stop-in for some good margaritas, cheviche, and enchiladas.

Eating & Drinking. Oh, yea. You’ve also got to eat and drink while visiting Maui. Well, for breakfast The Gazebo in Napili is a “must-do tradition,” along with the Kihei Café. For pizza, try Prison Street Pizza in Lahaina or Dollie’s Pub & Café in Napili.
In the upcountry town of Makawao are two good places to eat – Casanova Italian Restaurantand Makawao Steak House. Stop at this “Hawaiian cowboy” town on your way down from a sunrise visit at Haleakala Crater.
Spanky’s Riptide sports bar is open again and the well-known Paia Fish Market has opened a restaurant on Front Street in Lahaina. Also in Lahaina, stop by The Dirty Monkey for a large selection of craft beers and specialty whiskeys.
